Payment & invoicing

The Payment Accounts Act (ZKG) has been in force since 14 September 2019.

For you as a FRANZIS customer – as with other online shops – this means that when paying by credit card or PayPal you must additionally verify your identity using so-called two-factor authentication. This is required for amounts of EUR 20 or more.

Please ask your payment service provider (e.g. your credit card company) or your bank how the authentication works. They will usually already have informed you about this change.

In addition, you can ask your bank or payment service provider to put FRANZIS GmbH on a so-called "white list" (trusted payees). You will then no longer be asked for the second authentication for future purchases from FRANZIS. Please also ask your bank or payment service provider about the rules for this.

Note on our vouchers

Please note the following information to redeem a voucher code in our FRANZIS shop.

Put the desired product in your shopping cart. Then click on "Edit shopping cart". On a new page you will find a box titled "I have a voucher" below the product you selected. After clicking on it, you can redeem the voucher code.

Please note that vouchers can never be applied to goods with fixed prices such as books and e-books!

To make payment as convenient and easy as possible for you, you can choose between various payment methods when ordering on www.franzis.de: Apple Pay, PayPal, credit card, Klarna, bank transfer and – depending on the country – iDEAL and eps.

Note: PayPal and credit card are available for digital products (software downloads/ESD).

Overview of payment methods:

Payment by Apple Pay

On www.franzis.de you can pay quickly and securely with Apple Pay. Apple Pay is available on your iPhone, iPad or Mac as well as in the Safari browser and can be selected in all countries. If you select "Apple Pay" as your payment method, you conveniently confirm the purchase via Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode – there is no need to enter card details separately. Your card details are not transmitted to FRANZIS but are protected by an encrypted procedure (tokenisation). A credit or debit card stored in Apple Wallet is required. Your card is charged after the order has been accepted and the goods have been shipped.

Payment by PayPal

When ordering on www.franzis.de you can conveniently pay by PayPal – in all countries and also for digital products (ESD/download). If you select "PayPal" as your payment method, you will be redirected directly to PayPal after the last ordering step by clicking the order button. As an existing PayPal customer, you log in there with your access data and confirm the payment; alternatively, you can open a new PayPal account or, in individual cases, use guest access. When you switch to the PayPal website, your data (name, invoice amount, delivery address) is transmitted to PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A so that the payment can be carried out. Payment by credit card

When ordering on www.franzis.de you can pay by credit card in all countries and also for digital products (ESD/download). Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted. Credit card payments are protected by requesting the card verification number during the ordering process. This three- or four-digit verification number is located on the back or front of the card and serves to establish your identity and to prevent misuse. When you order, the order value is first reserved; your credit card is only charged after the order has been accepted and the goods have been shipped. Please note that when paying with a foreign credit card you must specify the country in your address.

Payment by Klarna

With Klarna, two payment options are available to you: instant bank transfer and "Pay later". With instant bank transfer, you pay directly via your bank's online banking – the payment is confirmed immediately. With "Pay later", you pay the invoice amount only after receiving the goods within the period specified by Klarna. If you select "Klarna" as your payment method, you will be redirected to Klarna's secure payment processing at the end of the ordering process. The data required for payment is transmitted to Klarna Bank AB; for "Pay later", Klarna may carry out its own check. Payment by bank transfer

On www.franzis.de you can also pay the classic way by bank transfer (prepayment). After completing your order, you will receive our bank details and all the information required for the transfer. Please transfer the invoice amount to the account stated, quoting the order or reference number given. As soon as we have received the payment, your order will be processed and the goods shipped. Please note that this may extend the delivery time by the duration of the transfer. Please only choose this payment method if you can transfer the amount promptly so that your order can be delivered without delay.

Payment by iDEAL

iDEAL is the established online payment method in the Netherlands and is only available to customers with a Dutch bank account. If you select "iDEAL" as your payment method, you will be redirected directly to the familiar online banking environment of your bank at the end of the ordering process. There you confirm the payment with your bank details as usual. The transaction is confirmed immediately so that your order can be processed promptly. Payment by eps

eps (eps bank transfer) is the online payment method of the Austrian banks and is only available to customers with an Austrian bank account. If you select "eps" as your payment method, you will be redirected directly to the online banking environment of your bank at the end of the ordering process. There you confirm the transfer as usual with a TAN or approval. The payment is confirmed immediately so that your order can be processed promptly.
